Hurco WinMax Lathe
At the heart of the TM Series is the power and flexibility of the Hurco MAX control for turning centers. The control can be programmed on the shop floor with Hurco’s patented conversational programming language. Hurco conversational is not only easy to learn and use, it can also significantly reduce programming times compared to NC programming. Users who prefer NC can also program and edit on the shop floor with the Hurco control. Parts can also be programmed offline using popular CAM software or Hurco’s Winmax desktop software. Even CAD files can be converted to programs to run on the TM Series. No other lathe offers this type of power and flexibility. The Hurco control allows users to choose the best method of programming for their shop and for each individual job. Furthermore, the easy to use touch screen provides helpful setup and verification graphics that show cuts on the screen before they are executed–virtually eliminating wasted materials and potential machine crashes. You design the part and pick the most efficient way to program it for your shop.
SETUP
Information for each tool is stored in the Tool Setup screen. Simply choose the type of tool and enter the parameters for each tool.

PART PROGRAMMING
Learning how to use the conversational control is easy and straightforward. Most users can be trained and programming part in just a day. Conversational programming is as easy as answering questions about the dimensions of the part. The Hurco control creates the program based on this information and determines the best way to cut the part.

Part Programming: When using bar stock, you can separate your completed part from the bar by using a cutoff block. If you have the optional Hurco Parts Catcher on your machine, you may optionally advance the catcher when the tool passes a configurable X-axis position.

Threading Cycle: The threading cycle performs multi-pass threading for outside diameter (OD) and inside diameter (ID) threads. This example shows an inside diameter straight threading data block.
WIREFRAME
With Hurco conversational programming, you can program the machine while referring to a part print. Wireframe graphics and verification graphics are available for viewing the part on the screen as programmed and then verifying the program to check for errors. If there are errors in your program, simply use the Data Block (DB) Search to go directly to the data block containing the error and edit the program.
VERIFICATION GRAPHICS
The verification graphics uses color graphics to show the actual tool paths and stock removal as it will run on the machine during the program.

Verification Graphics: Colored lines and objects are used to show different aspects of the work piece, setup and program. Green lines represent federate moves while yellow lines represent rapid federate moves. The dotted red line marks the centerline of the stock. The red circle and green circle shows the location of machine zero and part zero respectively. Finally, the dark gray area is used to display the stock and the contrasting light gray area is the chuck.
NCMP PACKAGE
The NC Macro Package (NCMP) option provides features that enhance productivity and aid in producing smaller, more powerful, and easier to maintain NC programs. NCMP features include variables, subprogram calls, macros, user-identified codes, mathematical equations and address expressions, plus M99 jump statements.
DESKTOP VERSION
Hurco’s Winmax Desktop is your vital link to communicate with your Hurco machine tools using Hurco conversational programming in a Windows environment. Create programs on your desktop or laptop and then transfer programs to your Hurco control via network connection (e.g. Hurco’s RS232 high-speed UltiNet connection) or portable disk drive. Winmax Desktop conversational programs are fully supported by every Hurco control with MAX 3 software or higher.
